Riseborough to ‘Punch’ with McAvoy

'Made in Dagenham' thesp joins British crime thriller

EXCLUSIVE: “Made in Dagenham” star Andrea Riseborough has landed the female lead opposite James McAvoy in Eran Creevy’s British crime thriller “Welcome to the Punch.”

“Green Lantern” thesp Mark Strong co-stars as a criminal who forms an unlikely union with a detective (McAvoy) as they uncover a conspiracy.

Rory Aitken and Ben Pugh are producing, while Ridley Scott and Liza Marshall are exec producing for Scott Free.

Worldview Entertainment is financing and exec producing the pic, which is slated to start production July 18 in London.

Riseborough recently appeared in Mark Romanek’s “Never Let Me Go,” and next stars in Madonna’s “W.E.” and IFC’s “Brighton Rock.” Thesp is also in talks to co-star in Joe Wright’s upcoming adaptation of “Anna Karenina.”

Riseborough is repped by Independent Talent and CAA, which is handling U.S. sales rights.
