Cinedigm and National Geographic will partner on a July 24 virtual premiere to digital theaters across the country for YouTube user-generated doc “Life in a Day.”
The documentary, directed by Kevin Macdonald and exec produced by Ridley Scott, is the product of more than 80,000 video clips submitted to the filmmakers by YouTube users across the globe. Users were asked to film themselves on July 24, 2010, and “describe the world as they see it, telling us their fears and loves,” according to Macdonald.
In keeping with the doc’s theme, some theaters will feature live, interactive segments with the filmmakers following the premiere screenings on July 24.
Documentary is set for a limited domestic release through National Geographic on July 29.
