Pixar's Unkrich to receive Pickford Award
Viacom topper Sumner Redstone will deliver the commencement address at the USC School of Cinematic Arts graduation ceremony this year.
He is a member of the Advisory Council for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Foundation, the board of trustees for the Paley Center for Media and executive committee of the National Assn. of Theater Owners.
“Toy Story 3” director and SCA alum Lee Unkrich will be awarded the film school’s Mary Pickford Foundation Award at the same ceremony. He studied production and created many award-winning shorts as a student at USC. He graduated in 1991, joined Pixar in 1994, and has since co-directed “Toy Story 2,” “Monsters, Inc.” and “Finding Nemo.”
The graduation ceremony will take place at the Shrine Auditorium on May 13.
