Red Sox owner invests in ‘Lucky’ film

'Last Exorcism' scribe Botko to helm

Boston Red Sox owner John Henry and wife Linda Pizzuti Henry have signed on as investors to “Lucky Them,” the indie film being exec produced by Joanne Woodward.

Marisa Tomei, Thomas Haden Church, Allison Janney and Alec Baldwin are among the thesps attached to the pic. Emily Wachtel and Huck Botko penned the script, about a rock-music journo assigned to track down her ex-boyfriend. Botko, a scribe on “The Last Exorcism” and the writer-helmer of “The Virginity Hit,” is set to direct.

Exact production timeline for “Lucky Them” remains to be firmed up, although it’s hoped the film will shoot in Gotham later this year.

“Lucky Them” was the final producing project for the late Paul Newman. Woodward, his wife, took the exec producer reins in the wake of his death.
