‘Red Dog’ has its day at Oz kudo

Pic wins big at Jameson IF Awards

BRISBANE — Feelgood Aussie pic “Red Dog” fetched seven kudos at the Jameson Inside Film Awards kudocast Wednesday night in Sydney.

Pic, which tells the story of how a canny canine unites a small Aussie town in the remote Pilbara region, won the top kudo for best film while Josh Lucas took actor. “Red Dog” also took home kudos for direction, script, cinematography, music and box office achievement for its haul of over $20 milllion at the B.O.

The actress prize went to Emily Watson for her role in “Oranges and Sunshine” while movie reviewers Margaret Pomeranz and former Variety critic David Stratton were named Living Legends.

The Inside Film Awards are people’s choice awards and screen on pubcaster SBS.
