RCR extends deal with Sony Worldwide

Co-financing feature films through 2012

RCR Media Group has announced an extension of their deal with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions to co-finance a slate of feature films for this year and next.

RCR first partnered in 2009 to produce “30 Days of Night: Dark Days” and “Stomp the Yard: Homecoming.” Upcoming titles covered under the deal include “S.W.A.T.: Firefight,” “Hostel Part III” and “Quarantine 2: Terminal” and with acquisitions such as “The Hit List.”

RCR Media Group Chairman Rui Costa Reis and CEO Eliad Josephson will serve as the exec producers on all titles.

The company made the announcement Wednesday. Costa Reis also said his company’s looking to partner on financing with other studios and plans to announce further deals in coming months.

“With long term business plans in place and a diversified film slate, we are positioned to become a brand name in film financing,” he added.
