Protag takes ‘Sister’ rights

Lynn Shelton film already sold for U.S., U.K.

LONDON – The U.K.’s Protagonist Pictures has taken on world rights for helmer-scribe Lynn Shelton’s “Your Sister’s Sister,” one of the buzz titles at Toronto this month, excluding North America, Blighty, Gaul, Australia and New Zealand.

IFC snapped up domestic rights after its Toronto preem. Pic has already sold to a raft of international territories including the U.K. (Studiocanal) and France (Le Pacte), plus Oz and New Zealand (Madman).

Deals were concluded by UTA and Submarine Entertainment.

Pic stars Emily Blunt and Rosemarie DeWitt and follows the story of sisters who compete for the same man.

Steven Schardt produced, while Vallejo Ganter, Jennifer Roth, Mark Duplass and Shelton exec produced.

Duplass and Shelton first collaborated on 2009’s “Humpday.”
