Blighty’s Pinewood Shepperton Studios, vfx house Framestore and producer Steve Norris have set up Apollo Prods. to provide production services to international filmmakers.
The shingle, which opens for business this month, will advise on all aspects of production in the U.K. from film qualification and the cultural test, to co-production status and tax credits, as well as managing production for clients.
Pinewood Shepperton, the country’s biggest studio, has worked on “Pirates of the Caribbean: At Stranger Tides” and “Robin Hood,” while Framestore, one of the largest digital vfx houses outside the U.S., has worked on titles including the “Harry Potter” franchise and “Avatar.”
Norris, a former British Film Commissioner and former m.d. of Framestore, was also the chairman of the U.K. Screen Assn.
Norris said: “We want Apollo to help productions of all sizes and budgets access the U.K.’s talent pool and locations.”
