PGA Showcase adds U.S. entries

Domestic competition fosters growth

The Producers Guild of America is expanding its International Film Co-Production Showcase to include domestic submissions.

Last year’s inaugural CoProShow solicited entries only from international producers. Now dubbed the 2011 PGA Producers Showcase, the competition will take place in conjunction with the third annual Produced By Conference, which runs June 3-5.

As part of the PGA’s goal to help producers develop business relationships and promote investment, ProShow winners receive free admission to the conference, where they will get one-on-one meetings with Hollywood financiers, studios and production companies.

Submissions will be judged by a panel of Producers Guild members including Donald De Line, David Friendly, Richard Gladstein, Gary Goetzman, Marshall Herskovitz, Gale Anne Hurd, Stu Levy, Lydia Dean, Cathy Schulman, Paula Wagner and Paula Weinstein. Winners will be announced in May.
