Equipment rental group Arri CSC hired Chris MacKarell as digital workflow supervisor. He’s responsible for creation and support of on-set digital workflow products and services for the company’s imaging departments in New Jersey and Florida, and Illumination Dynamics in North Carolina. MacKarell has 15 years of experience in digital media, with a career that spans Avid, NBC, Deluxe and Technicolor. Arri CSC is a subsidiary of Arri Inc.
Entertainment marketing agency Trailer Park’s Digital, Social and Mobile unit hired Scott Boyd as VP, account services and promoted Michael Faulkner to senior veep, account services and business development. Boyd’s recent experience includes the launch of Dather, a social media site and Facebook app, and a stint as managing director of AOL Music. He’ll report to TP division prexy Julianne LaMarche and to Faulkner
Film marketing and creative agency Bemis Balkind has promoted Eli Cohen and Jeff Wadley to associate creative directors. They will work with exec creative director Charles Reimers, dividing responsibilities across all theatrical releases.
Grass Valley appointed efficiency expert Gale England to the new role of senior veep, global operations and quality, reporting to CEO Alain Andreoli. England is charged with implementing new strategies for cost effective delivery of Grass Valley products, advancing the company’s operations strategy and identifying new efficiencies.
Production company Stardust hired Tania Staykova as exec producer of its Gotham office to oversee live-action and animation projects; she’ll manage current projects and pitch new ones. Staykova previously worked at The Martin Agency as agency producer. “Tania was a rock star on the agency side, now she is going to be a rock star on the production side for Stardust,” said Stardust owner Jake Banks.
