Hundreds of Twihards gathered outside the Ziegfeld on Sunday to catch a glimpse of Robert Pattinson before his latest pic, Fox 2000’s “Water for Elephants,” made its New York debut.
Although thesp’s exit from the theater post screening included swarms of fans and high-pitched screams, Pattinson and co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz’s arrivals at the swanky Le Cirque afterparty were met with little disturbance.
Helmer Francis Lawrence admitted that despite working with Will Smith and Keanu Reeves in the past, Twihards “surprised” him. “There is a rabid energy to his fans that I have never experienced before,” he said. “They really want a piece of him.”
Waltz, for his part, confessed he had not seen any of the “Twilight” pics. “I’m not a member of the target audience,” he disclosed.
