Shingle to focus on high-concept genre fare
Stigma will produce “high-concept genre fare” for an international audience.
Wilkinson previously worked at Working Title Films, where he was a development executive tracking new talent.
The first-look deal with Stigma will run parallel to Pathe U.K.’s producer deal with Christian Colson’s Cloud Eight Films, under which Pathe co-financed Danny Boyle’s “127 Hours” and is currently co-financing Boyle’s “Trance.”
Additionally, Pathe U.K. has hired Bradley Quirk as creative executive.
Quirk, who was previously a story editor and talent tracker at the U.K. Film Council and British Film Institute, will join Pathe in January, reporting to Pathe’s head of creative affairs Colleen Woodcock.
“We’re delighted to welcome both Matt and Bradley to the team with a view to increasing our level of production,” said Cameron McCracken, managing director of Pathe U.K. “Talented and smart, they offer an injection of new blood and a very different perspective. Through them we hope to reach a wider range of filmmakers and forge a new relationship with a younger audience.”
