Paramount puts ‘Curse’ on Streisand, Rogen

Mother-son comedy draws from real life

Paramount is ramping up mother-son comedy “My Mother’s Curse,” with Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen starring and David Ellison’s Skydance co-financing.

Studio is planning to start shooting this spring, with Anne Fletcher (“The Proposal”) directing from Dan Fogelman’s script. Project’s been in development at Par for several years. Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn are producing along with Evan Goldberg.

Story follows an inventor and his mother on a road trip, ostensibly to sell his organic cleaning product but actually to reunite mom with a man she loved earlier in life. Fogelman wrote the script based on a road trip he took with his mom.

Rogen, Streisand, Fogelman and Ellison are exec producing.

Streisand can now be seen in “Little Fockers” and was in talks earlier this month for a remake of “Gypsy” for Warner Bros. and Joel Silver. Rogen can now be seen in “The Green Hornet.”

Fogelman penned “Crazy, Stupid, Love” for Warners and will make his directorial debut for the studio with “Imagine,” starring Steve Carell.

Streisand’s repped by WME, Rogen and Fletcher by UTA.
