Paramount Insurge, the division formed to generate microbudget movies in the wake of “Paranormal Activity’s” success, has wrapped production on an untitled experimental project about a destination wedding that the studio’s former president of production, Brad Weston, produced through his Weston Pictures banner.
Nick Weiss (“Senior Skip Day”) wrote and directed the low-budget laffer, which stars newcomer Victoria Gold and British thesp Christian Cooke.
Story centers on an engaged couple that travels with family and friends to a beach resort for their wedding.
Weston Pictures VP Couper Samuelson also produced the pic, which was shot on location in Nicaragua.
Cooke (“Doctor Who” and the upcoming Starz series “Magic City”) is best known for starring in Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s coming-of-age dramedy “Cemetery Junction.”
Gold is a recent Juilliard grad who’s repped by Inspire Entertainment and SDB Partners, while Cooke is repped by WME, Management 360 and United Agents.
