Par taps ‘Eagle Eye’ scribe for sci-fi pic

John Glenn to re-write John Heffernan's untitled actioner

Paramount has tapped “Eagle Eye” scribe John Glenn to rewrite John Heffernan’s untitled sci-fi actioner, set up at Mary Parent’s Disruption Entertainment.

Studio acquired Heffernan’s script in June. Pic’s described as “Die Hard” on an alien spaceship.

Parent and Cale Boyter are producing.

Disruption has been ramping up business since Parent set up the Par-based banner in February, four months after exiting as the topper of MGM’s film biz. It’s developing “Hyperdrive,” picking up the science-fiction spec script from Morgan Jurgenson and Alex Ankeles; “The Watching Hour” at New Line with Mad Hatter; and an adaptation of the DC Comics series “The Mighty” with Chris Bender and JC Spink of Benderspink and Brian Spink producing.

BenderSpink is exec producing the Heffernan actioner, which has also been known as “Abducted.”

Glenn’s repped by WME and Brian Lutz.
