Paramount Pictures has set a Dec. 9, 2011 release date for “Young Adult” which reteams Jason Reitman with his “Juno” scribe Diablo Cody.
Reitman will direct with Cody penning the script.
The pic stars Charlize Theron as a writer who soon after her divorce, moves back to her home town to rekindle a romance with her ex-boyfriend who is now married with kids.
The Dec. 9 bow will be a limited release with Par releasing it wide on Dec. 16, which was a similar release strategy that the studio when releasing Reitman’s last pic “Up in the Air” in 2009.
This is Reitman’s first pic since “Up in the Air” which earned him Oscar Nominations for best direction and best adapted screenplay.
