Benderspink, L'Hereux to produce adaptation of graphic novel
EXCLUSIVE: Stephen L’Hereux and Benderspink are teaming to produce a feature adaptation of the Pulp Theatre Comic graphic novel “Brodie’s Law.”
Comicbook, which first appeared in 2004, was created by Daley Osiyemi and David Bircham, who teamed for U.K Channel 4’s “Alien Ink” comic series, and was co-written by “Judge Dredd” creator Alan Grant.
Story centers on antihero Jack Brodie, London’s East End gangster, expert thief and professional killer, who gains the ability to steal his victims’ souls and take on their appearance, memories and feelings. Project will be overseen by Benderspink’s Christopher Cosmos.
L’Hereux and Benderspink recently teamed on adapting vampire comic “Undying Love for Warner Bros. L’Hereux and his Solipsist Films banner are in production on independent animated pic “The Inventors,” created by Zack Keller and Ed Skudder, and will next produce “Sin City 2” with Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller this fall.Benderspink just renewed its first look deal at New Line. It’s set up “Abducted” and “The Mighty” at Paramount, a female actioner by Douglas Cook & David Weisberg at Summit and “Burt Wonderstone” with Steve Carrell at New Line.
