New Line may be headed out on a road trip with Melissa McCarthy, developing “Tammy” with the “Bridesmaids” thesp as a possible starring vehicle from her spec script, co-written with Ben Falcone.

The Warner Bros. subsidiary confirmed Monday that it was in talks to acquire McCarthy’s script about a woman who loses her job at Hardee’s, find out that her husband is cheating on her and goes on a trip with her foul-mouthed grandmother. McCarthy and Falcone will also exec produce “Tammy.”

McCarthy won an Emmy last month for CBS’s “Mike & Molly” and will appear Judd Apatow’s “Knocked Up spin-off for Universal. She’s also attached to Uni’s comedy “I.D. Theft” opposite Jason Bateman about a man who has identity stolen by a woman.

McCarthy is represented by CAA.
