MTV has renewed ”America’s Best Dance Crew” for a seventh season.

The series, hosted by Mario Lopez and with Randy Jackson as one of its exec producers, showed a 13% year-to-year ratings improvement in its sixth season, which finished in June.

”ABDC” ranked as cable’s No. 1 original series among viewers 12-34.

MTV entertainment topper David Janollari also announced at the network’s Television Critics Assn. panel that it had greenlit a second project from “Awkward” creator/EP Lauren Iungerich to the pilot stage.

“Dumb Girls” focuses on twentysomething relationships. “Awkward” premiered on MTV on July 19 and drew 1.7 million viewers.
