Partnership to license 251 titles domestically

Echo Bridge Entertainment and Miramax have entered into a distribution partnership under which 251 Miramax titles will be licensed for domestic release on homevideo.

Under the long-term deal, Echo Bridge will distribute titles including “From Dusk Till Dawn,” “Marvin’s Room” and “Becoming Jane” as well as films from the “Hellraiser,” “Halloween” and “Children of the Corn” franchises, on DVD and Blu-ray.

“We are all very excited about bringing these Miramax titles — many of which have tremendous star power and are cult classics — to audiences for their discovery and enjoyment,” said Echo Bridge Entertainment prexy-CEO Michael Rosenblatt.

A group of investors led by construction magnate Ron Tutor bought Miramax from Disney last year for $663 million. Since then, new CEO Mike Lang has said that Miramax will focus on exploiting its library through third-party distribution deals.

Echo Bridge, which acquired Alliance Atlantis Intl. Distribution from Goldman Sachs in 2008, is a worldwide distributor for film, TV, home entertainment and video-on-demand.
