Millennium Films is going on a “Guys Night,” acquiring rights to Chris Baldi’s comedy spec and targeting a spring production start.
Story centers on four guys stuck in dead-end jobs and not-much-better relationships who hear about a mystery island off the coast of New Jersey where anything goes. One night, they set off in search of adventure — but everything that can go wrong does.
Jim Valdez and Matt Bass are producing. Avi Lerner, Danny Dimbort, Trevor Short, Mike Goldberg and Josh Adler are executive producers.
Baldi has penned the forthcoming “What Would Kenny Do” with Ashton Kutcher and Justin Bieber at Columbia and “The Scavengers” with Thor Freudenthal directing at Fox.
Millenium’s current slate includes Gabriele Muccino’s “Playing the Field,” starring Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Dennis Quaid; Lee Daniels’ “Paperboy” starring Matthew McConaughey, Zac Efron, John Cusack and Nicole Kidman; Justin Zackham’s “The Big Wedding” starring Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Susan Sarandon, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried, Topher Grace and Robin Williams; and Simon West’s “Expendables 2,” starring Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Baldi is repped by CAA and New Wave Entertainment.
