DreamWorks has added Michelle Pfeiffer to family drama “Welcome to People” opposite Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks and Olivia Wilde.
Pic marks the directorial debut of Alex Kurtzman, who penned the script with writing/producing partner Roberto Orci and Jody Lambert. He’s set to start shooting this month.
Pfeiffer will portray the mother a young businessman, played by Pine, who returns home after his estranged father’s sudden death only to discover a surprising family secret — that he has an older sister (Banks) he never knew about and a young nephew. Wilde will portray the girlfriend of Pine’s character.
Pfeiffer was last seen in “Cheri” and has signed to be part of New Line’s ensemble comedy “New Year’s Eve.” Kurtzman and Orci are producing via their DreamWorks-based Paper Products shingle with Bobby Cohen.
