Michael Kelly has landed the father role in 20th Century Fox’s supernatural thriller “Chronicle,” slated for release next year.
Pic, produced by John Davis, will also star relative newcomers Michael B. Jordan, Dane DeHaan, Alex Russell and Ashley Hinshaw.
Josh Trank will make his directorial debut with the Max Landis-penned project.
Studio is being unusually secretive about the film and has not released a logline, though sources tell Variety that the story centers on three Portland teens who develop powers from exposure to a mysterious substance.
Kelly plays series regular Jonathan Simms on “Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior” and recently appeared in the Matt Damon-toplined thriller “The Adjustment Bureau.”
Thesp is repped by Innovative Artists and Liebman Entertainment.
