Ironlady_boffo The Oscars aren’t for another seven months but the Kodak Theater in Hollywood may as well reserve a seat for Meryl Streep.

Today 20th Century Fox released its international teaser for “The Iron Lady,” the Margaret Thatcher pic starring the two-time Oscar-winner, and it looks rather splendid.

Pic, Streep’s first film since “It’s Complicated,” marks the second collaboration between the actress and director Phyllida Lloyd following the 2008 box office smash, "Mamma Mia!"

Fox will distribute "Lady" in the U.K. along with Pathe while the Weinstein Company will handle U.S. distribution.

Streep last earned an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Julia Childs in “Julie & Julia” and given the reputation and stature of both Streep and Britain's former Prime Minister, don’t be surprised to see Streep's name in the awards mix this fall.

Written by Abi Morgan and produced by Damian Jones, “The Iron Lady” opens wide December 16, 2011.
