Meester, Vanilla Ice join Sandler’s ‘Dad’

'Gossip Girl' star and rapper in talks for Columbia comedy

“Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester is in talks to play Adam Sandler’s future daughter-in-law in Columbia Pictures comedy “I Hate You, Dad,” and rapper Vanilla Ice has joined the cast in a supporting role.

Andy Samberg co-stars in the pic. Sandler plays a father who moves in with his son and his fiancee, only to immediately start feuding with the bride-to-be.

Vanilla Ice, last seen on the bigscreen in the 2002 teen comedy “The New Guy,” will play an old friend of Sandler’s character.

Sandler’s “Bulletproof” co-star James Caan is in talks to play Meester’s tough-talking father.

Sean Anders and John Morris (“Sex Drive”) are directing from a screenplay by David Wain and Ken Marino (“Wanderlust”), who re-wrote David Caspe’s original script.

Sandler is producing through his Happy Madison banner along with Jack Giarraputo and Heather Parry. Pic is scheduled for release on June 15, 2012.

Meester most recently starred in Screen Gems thriller “The Roommate,” which Samberg spoofed on “Saturday Night Live” with Justin Bieber. Thesp will next be seen in Thomas Bezucha’s “Monte Carlo” and Julian Farino’s “The Oranges.”

Meester is repped by WME and Leverage Management, while Media Artists Group reps Vanilla Ice.
