Truly Indie, the self-distribution initiative under the Wagner/Cuban Cos., and Magnolia Home Entertainment will release ventriloquism documentary “Dumbstruck” in theaters and on DVD, with a theatrical bow set for March.
Mark Goffman’s doc visits a ventriloquism convention in Kentucky and follows five ventriloquists, one of whom, Terry Fator, went on to headline in Vegas.
Theatrical run of “Dumbstruck” begins March 26 in Fator’s hometown, Dallas, ahead of bows in Gotham, L.A. and other select markets.
Magnolia Home Entertainment will release the film on DVD.
“Dumbstruck” is produced by Lindsay Goffman and exec produced by Elon Musk, with David O. Sacks as a consulting producer.
Magnolia Pictures’ Tom Quinn and Dori Begley sealed the distribution deal with Parlay Media’s Kevin Iwashina.
