Wahlberg, Beckinsale star in crime pic
“Contraband” shoots in New Orleans later this month. Pic’s a remake of the Icelandic pic “Reykjavik-Rotterdam” and is being directed by Baltasar Kormakur, who also wrote, produced and starred in the original.
Script is penned by Aaron Guzikowski and centers on a former smuggler turned security guard — portrayed by Wahlberg — who’s forced to do one last job. Haas will portray a loyal friend to Wahlberg’s character
Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing through their Working Title banner along with Wahlberg, Kormakur and Stephen Levinson.
Haas just finished shooting the lead in indie drama “Meth Head,” with Jane Clark directing from her own script in a tale of a man who loses everything to a meth addiction. He will next be seen in Warner’s “Red Riding Hood.”
Diego Luna (“Milk”) is in final negotiations to portray a smuggler in “Contraband.” His directorial debut “Abel” will be released in March via Pantelion Films.
