Isabelle Huppert will be feted by the Locarno Film Festival with its excellence award on the Swiss fest’s Piazza Grande Aug. 7.

Besides collaborating with Claude Chabrol, the French star has worked with a slew of European auteurs, including Jean-Luc Godard, Michael Haneke, Claire Denis, Marco Ferreri, Andrzej Wajda and, in the U.S., with Michael Cimino, Hal Hartley, Curtis Hanson and David O. Russell.

She will next be seen in Filipino helmer Brillante Mendoza’s kidnap thriller “Captured.”

Several pics toplining Huppert, including Haneke’s “The Piano Teacher,” will screen at the fest, where Huppert will hold an onstage conversation about her career.

The 64th edition of the fest will run Aug. 3-13.
