LLeju Prods. has come on board to finance and co-produce the drama “Stars” alongside Storyland Pictures’ Derrick Borte and Scott Lochmus.

Lleju topper William Perkins made the announcement Monday.

Borte will also direct “Stars” from a script by Jim Janosky. The script, which was on the 2005 Black List, follows a man who decides on his birthday to commit suicide but his disregard for life takes a turn when he meets a mysterious stranger. Production is scheduled to start next month.

Andrew Hurwitz of Schreck Rose Dapello Adams and Hurwitz, LLP represented both parties in the deal.

LLeju recently wrapped ”The Baytown Disco” starring Billy Bob Thornton and Eva Longoria.
