Jason Statham pic is directed by Boaz Yakin

Lionsgate has moved Jason Statham starrer “Safe” back four months to March 2 from a Oct. 28 release.

“Safe” tells the story of a former elite agent who fights to rescue a 12-year-old girl. Boaz Yakin (“Remember the Titans”) directed and IM Global, Automatik Entertainment, Lawrence Bender Prods. and Trigger Street Prods.

“Safe” will go up against Warner Bros.’ comedy “Project X,” Universal’s “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax” and Paramount’s “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.”

The Oct. 28 frame contains wide openings for Uni’s “Johnny English Reborn,” Sony’s drama “Anonymous” and FilmDistrict’s “Rum Diary.”
