Jason Statham starrer skedded for April 27

Lionsgate has moved Jason Statham starrer “Safe” back into the late spring season on April 27 from a March 2 release.

“Safe” tells the story of a former elite agent who fights to rescue a 12-year-old girl. Boaz Yakin (“Remember the Titans”) directed and IM Global, Automatik Entertainment, Lawrence Bender Prods. and Trigger Street Prods.

“Safe” will go up against Universal’s Nicholas Stoller comedy “Five Year Engagement.” The March 2 frame contains Warner Bros.’ comedy “Project X,” Universal’s “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax” and Paramount’s “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.”

Lionsgate had originally dated “Safe” for Oct. 28.
