Lionsgate has dated Jason Statham starrer “Safe” for a Oct. 28 release.
Pic, from helmer-scribe Boaz Yakin, is the first in a three-picture distribution deal with IM Global, which produced the film, along with Automatik Entertainment, Lawrence Bender Prods. and Trigger Street Prods.
Set to go up against wide releases 20th Century Fox’s “Now” and FilmDistrict’s “The Rum Diary,” “Safe” tells the story of a former elite agent who fights to rescue a 12-year-old girl. Catherine Chan co-stars.
The other two films included in the Lionsgate-IM Global pact are Pete Travis’ “Dredd” and Simon West’s “Protection”; neither have been dated.
