Lifetime, Gurwitch ink development deal

Duo pact for 'Shut Up'

Lifetime has inked a script development deal with Annabelle Gurwitch and her husband Jeff Kahn for their book “You Say Tomato, I Say Shut Up: A Love Story.”

Gurwitch hosted TBS’ “Dinner and a Movie” for six years, and currently works on Planet Green’s “Wa$ted.” Kahn has written for “The Ben Stiller Show” and “Later with Greg Kinnear,” among others. A “You Say Tomato” scripted comedy is in the early stages at the network.

“You Say Tomato” is Gurwitch and Kahn’s memoir of marriage and child-rearing; the couple’s son, Ezra, was born with a medical condition called VACTERL association. Book alternates perspectives between Kahn and Gurwitch.
