Larson in talks for ’21 Jump Street’

Actress eyes part on Sony's adaptation

Brie Larson is in early talks to star in Sony Pictures’ “21 Jump Street” opposite Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube.

Neil Moritz is producing and the team of Phil Lord and Chris Miller is directing. Hill and Tatum will portray undercover cops working in high schools and colleges and Cube is signed to play the duo’s leader,

“21 Jump Street” is based on the Fox series, which ran from 1987 to 1991 and starred Johnny Depp for its first four seasons.

The late Stephen J. Cannell, who co-created and exec produced the skein, will receive posthumous credit. Hill and Tatum are exec producing.

Pic is slated to start production in late April.

Larson’s big screen credits include “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World,” “Greenberg” and “Rampart.” She’s also starred in “The United States of Tara.”
