Landis pens ‘Pied Piper’ for Fox

John Davis to produce pic

Max Landis, the young screenwriter who recently found traction in a weakened spec market with his “Chronicle,” will write the fantasy thriller “Pied Piper” for 20th Century Fox.

John Davis will produce the reimagining of the Pied Piper tale with his Davis Entertainment shingle.

Steve Asbell will oversee for the studio.

Landis sold “Chronicle” to Fox in August and is working on the Ron Howard-helmed “Amnesty” for Universal.

Studio has not yet set a director for “Pied” and has not yet released a logline.

WME and Circle of Confusion rep the writer.
