“Max Payne” helmer John Moore is in negotiations with 20th Century Fox to direct Bruce Willis-toplined actioner “Die Hard 5.”
Helmer’s name had been one of many tossed around for the past month, and sources say that other directors had been in the mix as recently as late last week.
Studio has searched for a director to fill the spot since Noam Murrow left the project earlier this summer.
Skip Woods wrote the “Die Hard” script, the next installment in a franchise whose most recent pic, 2007’s “Live Free or Die Hard,” grossed more than $380 million worldwide.
Moore has a relationship with Fox from helming pics including “The Omen,” “Flight of the Phoenix” and “Behind Enemy Lines.”
