McGinley will order Tyler Perry around in “I, Alex Cross,” as the “Scrubs” star is in talks to play the chief of police in Summit Entertainment’s reboot of the James Patterson novels. McGinley joins Matthew Fox and Ed Burns in the Rob Cohen-directed pic. He’s repped by WME and attorney Kevin Morris of Morris Yorn.
