John Antioco earns a Rave

He's named chairman of exhibitor

Former Blockbuster chairman-CEO John F. Antioco has been tapped chairman of Dallas-based exhibitor Rave Cinemas.

Antioco succeeds former Rave chairman Charles B. Moss Jr., who will remain as the circuit’s second-largest investor and a member of the board of directors. Chairman swap will take place when the board meets on Sept. 19.

“Charley has been a tremendous mentor to me during my transition to chief executive officer, and I am grateful for his guidance,” said Rave CEO Rolando B. Rodriguez. “I look forward to his continued contributions and strong relationship with Rave.”

Antioco added: “Rave is well positioned to continue leading innovation in the industry.”

Prior to heading Blockbuster, Antioco spent 30 years in the retail and restaurant sectors. Currently, he is chairman of J&B Restaurant Partners.
