Rollout begins in L.A. this fall
Balcony Releasing has picked up U.S. rights to “Finding Joe,” Patrick Takaya Solomon’s doc about Joseph Campbell.
Pic examines the contempo relevance of the theories espoused by Campbell, the influential mythologist who outlined the archetype of the hero’s journey in his book “The Hero with a Thousand Faces.” Docu includes interviews with Deepak Chopra, Tony Hawk, Catherine Hardwicke and Akiva Goldsman, among others.
Balcony, headed by Greg Kendall and Connie White, will release “Finding Joe” in L.A. on Sept. 30 ahead of a national rollout. Docs previously released by the distributor include “Daughter from Danang,” “Louder than a Bomb” and “Pray the Devil Back to Hell.”
