Jeb Brody joins Focus Features

Exec named production prexy, begins in September

Veteran exec Jeb Brody is joining Focus Features as the president of production, replacing John Lyons.

Focus CEO James Schamus and president Andrew Karpen made the announcement Wednesday. Brody begins work next month.

Lyons is returning to working as a film producer as well as devoting more time to philanthropic endeavors.

Brody will be based in Focus’ West Coast offices and oversee the Focus production team in place in New York, London and Los Angeles. He’s currently president of production at Vendome Pictures,where he supervised production of, and was executive producer on, the company’s first two movies — “Source Code” and “Larry Crowne.”

Brody was one of the partners who established Big Beach, with credits on “Little Miss Sunshine,” “SherryBaby” and Christine Jeffs’ “Sunshine Cleaning.”

Schamus and Karpen said, “Jeb is an exceptionally talented executive with great taste and instincts, with a genuine track record of making successful, smart movies.”
