Former helmer Aronofsky dropped out in March

Twentieth Century Fox has finally found a director for “Wolverine,” tapping “Knight and Day” helmer James Mangold to helm the superhero actioner.

Mangold emerged from an eclectic list of choices that included Gavin O’Connor, Antoine Fuqua and Doug Liman.

Studio had been on the hunt for a director since Darren Aronofsky dropped out of the film in March.

Christopher McQuarrie wrote the script, which takes place mostly in Japan.
