EXCLUSIVE: Rising star Jake Johnson is ready to re-team with Jonah Hill, as the up-and-coming thesp has been cast as a principal in Columbia Pictures’ action comedy “21 Jump Street.”
Hill and Channing Tatum star in “21 Jump St.” as undercover cops working the high school beat. The supporting cast also includes Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Rob Riggle and Dave Franco.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing from their own screenplay. Neal Moritz is producing, while Tatum and Hill are exec producing the pic, which is slated to start production later this month.
Johnson previously worked with Hill on “Get Him to the Greek” and is set to voice one of the main characters in Hill’s animated Fox pilot “Allen Gregory.” Thesp most recently appeared in Ivan Reitman’s “No Strings Attached,” and can currently be seen playing Uma Thurman’s younger brother in Max Winkler’s “Ceremony.” He’s also set to star opposite Zooey Deschanel in Liz Meriwether’s Fox pilot “Chicks and Dicks”
