Irons, Catrall to lead ‘Treehouse’

Koltai to helm $10 million pic

BERLIN — Jeremy Irons and Kim Catrall have signed up to star in Transcorda Filmproduktion and Groundswell Productions’ “The Treehouse.”

The period drama, which was originally titled “The Master of Farrow,” also toplines Tom Sturridge (“Pirate Radio”) and is skedded for a June 2012 release.

Pic, which is set in pre WWI Germany, follows the relationships between a youthful failed student, his glamourous cousin and her mother and father where a revealing diary causes intensity between the group.

The signings were announced at EFM in Berlin where Irons’ latest pic, “Margin Call,” played in competition on Friday.

The $10 million pic, which is being repped by L.A.-based distrib company House of Film, is helmed by Lajos Koltai (“Being Julia”) and penned by Paul Mayersberg (“Croupier,” “The Last Samurai”).
