Warner Bros. Television Group has upped Laura Valan to exec veep of finance and administration. Valan, who oversees all aspects of finance for WB’s TV group, had served as senior veep of TV financial management since 1999.Russell Schwartz has joined Starz Entertainment as senior veepee topping its business and legal affairs group for Starz Originals and TV production. Schwartz, a 17-year HBO vet, most recently worked as a consultant. Showtime has tapped Don Buckley as senior VP overseeing its digital media group, including day-to-day operations for Showtime’s broadband, mobile and interactive TV initiatives. Buckley comes to the pay cabler after serving 20 years as an interactive and marketing exec at Warner Bros. Roy Restivo has been appointed veep of programming research and sales strategy for NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution. Restivo, who joined NBC in 2004, was most recently VP of research. Cabler MUSL TV has named Tony Cochi exec veep of distribution and digital media. Cochi is a 25-year cable biz vet whose resume includes a stint as director of programming acquisition for Cablevision.
