Incerti to top Venice jury

Director subs for Roberta Torre

Italian director Stefano Incerti will be the new jury president for the Venice Film Festival’s Controcampo Italiano competition after director Roberta Torre’s unexpected resignation for personal reasons.

Incerti’s “Gorbaciof,” which gained critical and public acclaim at the fest last year, is about to be released in France and has been sold in territories including the U.K., Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland and Greece.

The Controcampo Italiano jury, as previously announced, includes screenwriter Aureliano Amadei, winner of the 2010 Controcampo Italiano award with “20 sigarette,” and actress Cristiana Capotondi, acclaimed for her perf in Carlo Mazzacurati’s “La Passione.”Naples-born Incerti’s films include “Il Verificatore” (1995), “Prima del tramonto” (1999), “La vita come viene” (2003), “L’uomo di vetro” (2007) and “Complici del silenzio” (2009).
