Hyde Park pushes Shadyac doc ‘I Am’

Shingle gets international rights at Cannes

EXCLUSIVE: Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Intl. has picked up international sales rights to Tom Shadyac’s documentary “I Am.”

“I Am” is produced by Dagan Handy (“Bruce Almighty,” “Dragonfly”).

Shadyac talked to intellectual and spiritual leaders, including South African archbishop Desmond Tutu; historian, author, playwright and social activist Howard Zinn, who died last year; poet Coleman Barks; talkshow host and author Thom Hartmann; and linguist and social activist Noam Chomsky, about what’s wrong with the world and how it can be improved.

HPI prexy Mimi Steinbauer is spearheading international sales on the docu in Cannes. It has been in release for 12 weeks in the U.S.

Hyde Park’s Cannes slate includes Nicolas Cage starrer “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 3D,” Naomi Watts starrer “The Bleeder” and Paul Rudd comedy “Our Idiot Brother.”
