Miniseries has been licensed to 30 territories worldwide
LONDON — The show was too hot to handle for the U.S. History Channel, but its U.K. counterpart will air Muse Entertainment’s “The Kennedys” in April. The eight-hour mini, which will be shown in the U.S. by Reelz, stars Greg Kinnear as John F. Kennedy, Barry Pepper as Robert F. Kennedy, Katie Holmes as Jacqueline Kennedy and Tom Wilkinson as Joseph Kennedy Sr. Showtime, Starz and FX all reportedly turned down the skein because it depicts the political dynasty in an unflattering light. AETN U.K. managing director Tom Davidson described landing the show as “a major coup” for the U.K. History channel, a joint venture between AETN and pay TV platform BSkyB. “Kennedys” has been licensed to 30 territories.
