Helen Hunt takes ‘Ride’ reins

Pic to unveil at Cannes Market

Helen Hunt is set to helm her second feature pic, “Ride,” which Brit sales outfit Intandem Films is unveiling to buyers on the Croisette.

Hunt also stars in the $6 million romantic comedy and penned the script.

Story follows a strong-willed mother who follows her 20-year-old son to L.A., after he quits college at NYU to become a surfer. Each end up finding their own version of love in unlikely places.

Michael Roiff (“Waitress”) will produce through his Night & Day Pictures banner alongside Hunt, Matthew Carnahan and Moon Blauner.

Hunt previously directed 2007’s “Then She Found Me,” in which she stared alongside Colin Firth, Matthew Broderick and Bette Midler.

Intandem reps international rights, while CAA will rep the film domestically.

In addition to “Ride,” Intandem’s Cannes slate includes James D’Arcy and Noel Clarke starrer “Screwed” and Rob Heydon helmed “Ecstacy.”
