Thesp joins Colin Firth and Emily Blunt in dark indie comedy

Anne Heche has boarded the dark comedy “Arthur Newman, Golf Pro” starring Colin Firth and Emily Blunt.

Firth stars as a man who hates his job and is despised by his family. Feeling he missed his shot at living the dream, he decides to fake his own death and create a new identity. He meets a young woman (Blunt) with her own troubled past, and the duo start breaking into empty homes to pose as the absent owners.

Heche will play Firth’s girlfriend, who treats him terribly.

Johnston, Brian Oliver, Alisa Tager and Natalie Hill are producing through Cross Creek Productions. Production is skedded to start this month in North Carolina.

Heche, repped by CAA and Untitled Entertainment, can currently be seen on HBO’s “Hung” and can be seen next in Millenium Film’s “Rampart.”
