HOLLYWOOD — The Sept. 8 preem of Kevin Hart’s “Laugh at My Pain” didn’t begin on time, so Hart chatted up friends Snoop Dogg, Gabrielle Union and Jamie Foxx. “We’re starting late! It’s a black event!” he yelled to the crowd at the Pacific Design Center.
The Codeblack Entertainment and Hartbeat Prods. pic covers the standup tour in which Hart broke Eddie Murphy’s record for two-day ticket sales. Obviously, there are no hard feelings, because Murphy showed up at the after-party with Arsenio Hall. That left Hart spinning.
“Take the words ‘honored,’ ‘disbelief,’ ‘flabbergasted’ and create a word out of them,” he said. “Forget records! Eddie broke down walls!”
Hart’s also done well for himself. “He’s blown up like Orville Redenbacher popcorn,” said Cedric the Entertainer.
Marlon Wayans, for one, refused to gossip about the five-foot-five Hart. “Kev is a dangerous height,” he said. “If he swings, he’ll hit me in a place I don’t want to be hit.”
